Blog Hop (04) & Follow Friday (05)

Book Blogger Hop
The Book Blogger Hop is a meme sponsored by Jennifer at Crazy For Books.

This week's question is:
"If you find a book that looks interesting but it's part of a series, do you always start with the first title?"
Yes, or at least I try to. I always feel like I'm missing something important if I don't start with the first book in a series.

HI! Welcome to my blog! I am participating in Follow Friday hosted by Parajunkee's View.
Hop on please leave comment, link your blog, and follow, and I will follow you as well.

"What is your usual monthly book budget?"
It varies but about $50 a month.

  1. Hi there! Happy Friday and book blogger hop! what a cool site you have here!

  2. Hi Carla I am hopping over from blog hop, like your site. I like to start a series in order if possible.

  8. Hopped in to say hi and am now a follower. Have a great weekend

  9. Happy Friday, Carla!

Old follower here. I’m doing all three of the Friday blog runs. I don’t limit myself to budget with books. I just love to read and write so that line is always doable for me. And Yes, I love start a series at the 1st book.

  11. Hopping through and now following you!

I wish I could spend $50 a month on books. I have to keep mine around $0 :P

  12. I can dive right into the middle of a book series if the series' story
    doesn't run chronologically.

That is to say, if each novel in a series is a stand-alone story (like Lee
Child's Reacher novels) then I don't feel the need to start with book one.

On the other hand, a series of books (like Richard Hatch's Battlestar
Galactica novels) can't be read out of sequence since each new book builds
upon the story of the previous entry in the series.

    Happy Book Blogger Hop Friday!

I have. Giveaways are a great way to find new blogs and, if you're lucky, to win some equally great books.

  17. @Music4Betty

  21. Just wanted to say Howdy from the hop!

Hope you had a great weekend.

  22. How long is too long?

I was blogging from my official website about the interactive fiction books
I was writing before the words "blog" and "blogging" entered the English

And I blogged a lot about many things -- not just books.

I need to blog off topic a little more, I think. I don't want people to the
    idea I'm too two dimensional!

    Thank God It's Follow Friday!

    Enjoy the weekend!
