Top Ten Male Characters

Hello Hello! Last week you let me know who your favorite male characters are. Are you curious to see who's in the list this week? I have to confess, this list surprised me a little!

According to the votes received your favorite female characters are:
(Click on the image to be taken to goodreads)

10 - Sam from The Wolves of Mercy Falls Series by Maggie Stiefvater

"Sam is a werewolf, and for 6 years he has been watching over Grace. Wanting to be with her, wanting to be close. But also afraid that Grace will be scared of her.
Sam never knew that Grace felt the same. How she looks forward to winter, because only in winter her yellow-eyed wolf comes close to her view."

9 - Patch from Hush Hush by Becca FitzPatrick

"Patch, a new senior at Coldwater High, is described as a “dark-Levi’s dark-Henley dark boots kind of guy" who smells of mint. He is Nora's biology partner. He keeps his past under wraps and is accused of more lies than truth from Nora- he is not, in fact, lying, he simply avoids the questions. He can be sly and brooding, and frequently leaves Nora alternately furious or tongue tied. He uses his charms as a way of getting what he wants and avoiding unwanted questions, though he begins to open up as the novel progresses. He spends most of his time playing pool at Bo's Arcade."

8 - Ash from The Iron Fey Series by Julie Kagawa

"Prince Ash is strikingly beautiful, cold and calculating. His mission is to help Meghan find her brother, and then take her back to Queen Mab. What he doesn’t expect is to fall for her along the way. He vacillates between tender and frigid, throwing mixed signals Meghan’s way throughout the story. It is clear that he cares for her, but his ultimate loyalty is to his mother and the Winter Court."

I took that description from myvampfiction.com blog.

7 - Tie between Ron Weasley from Harry Potter by J. K. Rowling and Étienne St. Clair from Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins

"Ronald Bilius "Ron" Weasley (b. 1 March, 1980) was a pure-blood wizard and the sixth son of Molly and Arthur Weasley. He was also the younger brother of Bill, Charlie, Percy, Fred and George, and the elder brother of Ginny.

Ron began attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in 1991 and was sorted into Gryffindor house. He soon became best friends with fellow student Harry Potter and later Hermione Granger."

"Étienne St. Clair - Commonly called by his last name, Étienne is Anna's main love interest. He was born in the United States, raised in England, and goes to school in Paris."

I couldn't find a complete description of Étienne so I have to say he is super cute, sweet, caring and intelligent. Plus, he has an accent!

6 - Dimitri from Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead

"A well-respected 24-year-old Dhampir of Russian origin from Siberia, assigned to be Lissa's Guardian along with Rose. Dimitri has a slight Russian accent, and likes old western novels. He is 6'7", has brown eyes, shoulder length hair a few shades lighter than Rose's dark brown hair, and tanned skin. He is sometimes described as a 'god,' in reference to his reputation as one of the most skilled and 'badass' guardians around. He is also Rose's mentor and love interest. He returns Rose's feelings but attempts to stay out of a relationship with her for most of the series, since it would interfere with his guardian duties.”

5 - Harry Potter from Harry Potter by J. K. Rowling

"Harry James Potter (b. 31 July, 1980) was a half-blood wizard, the only child and son of James Potter and Lily Potter, and one of the most famous wizards in modern times. He was also one of the most famous students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry of his time. He was the only known survivor of the Killing Curse, as Lord Voldemort tried to murder him when he was an infant, which led to Voldemort's first defeat and the end of the First Wizarding War, as well as to the orphaned Harry being taken in by his Muggle relatives, the Dursleys, the only relatives Harry had left.

At the age of eleven, Harry learned from Rubeus Hagrid, the Hogwarts gamekeeper, that he was a wizard. He began attending Hogwart's School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and was sorted into Gryffindor house. While at school, Harry became best friends with Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger."

4 - Severus Snap from Harry Potter by J. K. Rowling

"Professor Severus Snape (9 January, 1960 – 2 May, 1998) was the Potions master (1981–1996), Defence Against the Dark Arts professor (1996-1997), and Headmaster (1997-1998) of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, which he attended as a student from 1971 until 1978. Snape indeed played a very important role in both of the wars against Lord Voldemort."

3 - Peeta from The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

"Peeta Mellark is one of the main characters of The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins. Peeta is the boy tribute from District 12, picked alongside Katniss Everdeen to participate in the 74th annual Hunger Games, a competition that forces children to fight to the death on live television to remind the nation of Panem to not rebel against the Capitol. It is mandatory for all of Panem to watch the games. Peeta and Katniss both win, though this is against the rules."

2 - Edward Cullen from Twilight by Stephenie Meyer

"Edward Cullen (born Edward Anthony Masen, Jr., on June 20, 1901 in Chicago, Illinois) is a vampire and a member of the Olympic Coven, as well as the main protagonist of the Twilight Saga. He is the husband of Bella Swan and the father of Renesmee Cullen. Edward is the adoptive son of Carlisle and Esme Cullen, as well as the son-in-law of Charlie Swan and Renée Dwyer. He is the adoptive brother of Emmett and Alice Cullen, Rosalie and Jasper Hale.
After experiencing Spanish influenza in 1918 in Chicago, Edward was turned into a vampire by Dr. Carlisle Cullen, as the only alternative to death. Over the next ninety years the pair gathered a family of vampires around themselves, and called themselves "vegetarians"."

1 - Jace Wayland from The Mortal Instuments Series by Cassandra Clare

"Fighting, hunting, and killing demons are the things Jace is good ad. Though the jagged scars and black runic Marks on his body are a badge of honor as far as he's concerned, he keeps a lot to himself. Like the fact that his parents were murdered by Valentine's servants in front of him when he was ten years old. There are a lot of things Jace doesn't talk about — until he meets Clary, a mundane girl who can see him, maybe better than he can see himself. The connection that binds them will force Jace to confront the black secrets of a past he never wanted to remember..."

So, what do you think of this list? Does it surprise you?
I have to confess I did not expect Jace to be number one! And where is Mr. Darcy? My vote would go to him. :)

Thanks for voting!

  3. Ha, I'm a little surprised that Sev is higher than Harry! My reaction is more "O_O" if people that voted meant that romantically. To each his/her own, I suppose. My favourite (Jem) didn't make the list, but that's okay ;) More for me.
