Seventeen-year-old Raine Cooper has enough on her plate dealing with her

her boyfriend relocating. The last thing she needs is Torin St. James—a
mysterious new neighbor with a wicked smile and uncanny way of reading her.
Raine is drawn to Torin’s dark sexiness against her better judgment, until he saves her life with weird marks and she realizes he is different. But by healing her, Torin changes something inside Raine. Now she can’t stop thinking about him. Half the time, she’s not sure whether to fall into his arms or run.
Scared, she sets out to find out what Torin is. But the closer she gets to the truth the more she uncovers something sinister about Torin. What Torin is goes back to an ancient mythology and Raine is somehow part of it. Not only are she and her friends in danger, she must choose a side, but the wrong choice will cost Raine her life.
Review:
I have received this book for review as part of a blog tour.
I like a good YA paranormal story and Runes seemed just that. Gladly the
book did not disappoint me. It probably also helps that I like Ednah Walters
and her books written as E.B. Walters.
Raine has a lot on her plate already. She certainly doesn’t need to feel
attracted to bad –boy Torin St. James but when he saves her life she realizes
he’s very different and her whole life suddenly changes.
The characters in this book are quite interesting. Raine is the main
character and despite the fact she can be a little complicated at times I liked
the fact she was strong and feisty.
My favorite character in the book is definitely Torin. He’s a cocky bad
boy. He’s a little rough around the edges but he’s also great to Raine.
The relationship between Raine and Torin develops nicely. I’m a fan of
banter and I have to say the banter between them is great.
When it comes to the story and plot of Runes I really enjoyed it. The story
is fast-paced and imaginative and I think Ednah Walters did a great job creating
this paranormal world. The story is very well-written and full of twists and
turns that were able to keep me interested and entertained.
All in all, I really enjoyed Runes and thought it’s a very interesting
story with a great mystery, twists and turns and a good romance. The book is
very well-written and the paranormal world created very fun.
There’s a cliffhanger at the end of the book so I can’t wait for the next
one in the series now!
I’d say my only issue with this book is the fact I don’t care much for the
cover but that can easy be overlooked.
If you like an entertaining paranormal story, give this book a try!
