After having her heart broken Maddie decides she will not fall for the cute guys because they are always players. With her friends she creates the Guys Are Props to remember herself of her promise.
When she meets Sebastian she doesn’t realize he might be different from all the other players she has met and is up to him to prove he is actually quite a nice guy.
Maddie is our main character and I really liked her. She’s smart, sweet and a hard worker. It was easy to connect with her and understand her. She had her heart seriously broken but she still found a way to eventually move on.
I really loved the fact she became such good friends with Hunter and visited as often as she could.
I also really liked Sebastian. He’s a great character. He’s witty, smart, honest and all around great. He’s a really nice guy and I liked the fact he was able to hold his ground and show Maddie he really liked her even when she was trying to push him away or test him.
I thought the romance between Maddie and Sebastian was great and developed quite nicely. Both of them grow as the story develops and become even better characters.
There are other characters that bring a lot to the story like Hunter and his greatness and Jessica and manipulative ways.
Plotwise, the story is very imaginative and I liked the few surprised thrown in there. The story develops quite nicely and is well-written. The club created by Maddie and Jessica is actually pretty cool and not something you normally read about.
All in all, The Guys are Props is a great story. It is fast paced and interesting with great characters that were able to keep me entertained and wanting to find out what would happen with them.
If you enjoy a fun New Adult book, you should give this one a try.
