Interview with Jessica Sankiewicz

 Title: If Only We

Author: Jessica Sankiewicz

Release date: October 27th, 2013

Genre:  Young Adult

Tour: Irresistible Reads Book Tours

Book Description:

They say all it takes is one wrong move and you lose the game. One false step and you’re trapped. One slip-up in your choice of words and you ruin a friendship forever. That is what they say. They say I lost.

I do not believe them.

At the end of the summer after graduation, Adrienne wonders what happened to cause her life to be in ruins. She isn’t getting along with her mom, her stepsister isn’t talking to her, and, to top it off, the boy she’s been in love with doesn’t want anything to do with her. She believes the turning point was a choice she made at graduation. When she wakes up the next day, she has been transported back three months to that moment, the one where everything started to fall apart.

Adrienne realizes she has been given a second chance—and this time she doesn’t want to mess anything up. Reliving the entire summer, though, turns out to be a lot harder than she thought. As the same days and weeks go by, she starts to see how simple decisions can make a huge impact on the world around her. Despite knowing some of what lies ahead, there are some things she didn’t anticipate. She thought she knew what mistake led her to where she ended up the first time. She was wrong.

And by the time summer is over, she discovers what was really at stake.

Interview

1 - What inspired you to write If Only We?

It started with the first scene in the story, where Adrienne and Chevy are talking. There was something so sad about it that I felt compelled to give Adrienne a second chance. That's pretty much how the whole idea of time travel came into play.

2 - Why Young Adult fiction?

I have spent years reading YA, it was only a matter of time before I would start writing it. There's something very familiar and soothing about reading, and writing, Young Adult.

3 - Do you have any writing habits?

Not really. I like to have a snack (usually chocolate or something with chocolate in it) and something to drink nearby when I'm writing. Most of the time I have to have music playing in the background.

4 - Who are a few of your favorite authors?

Kirsten Hubbard, Gayle Forman, Sophie Jordan, Kody Keplinger, Jennifer Echols.

5 - What's next for you?

I'm working on a novella titled Not Until Tonight. This one is going to lean more toward New Adult, but I plan on returning to Young Adult again for sure.

About the Author:
Jessica is the 28-year-old author of IF ONLY WE, a YA contemporary. You can often find her either reading or marathon watching TV on DVD, her favorites being Castle and Veronica Mars. She frequently mismatches her clothes and giggles uncontrollably. She knows almost every Billy Joel song by heart. She collects books and toys, and she has an intense love of cats and lemurs. Currently in the midst of her quarter-life-crisis, she is still takin' names and getting very close to reaching an epiphany.

Interview

1 - Have you always wanted to be a writer?

- Honestly, no.  I have written poetry, short stories, children's stories, and written almost every day of my life in a diary/journal.  But the desire to write a full length book and release it out to the world didn't come until a few years ago.  I started writing fanfiction, then moved to an online writing community for original work, and finally I took my chances on trying to get one of my books published.  So, while I' always written and had a need to get my ideas out of my head and on paper, the desire to release the writer inside grew over time.

2 - What inspired you to write Falling Stars?

- It started with the idea of a famous lead singer of a major rock band.  His character kind of developed on its own. With copious amounts of rock music, courtesy of iTunes, Christopher Mason emerged.  A gorgeous, hot, dirty, arrogant, moody rock star with a past that tortures and haunts him every night.  From there, Falling Stars developed into the book it is today.

3 - Was there any song you listened to repeatedly while writing Falling Stars?

- There's actually a whole playlist for Falling Stars
(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hPC2Fp7IT7o&feature=share&list=PLtRSDu49KQabS42FqghtEdXv1h_JnHQmc).  And while I cannot pick just one of the songs, I can tell you that the following were listened to more than any other - Broken by Seether (ft Amy Lee), I'm a Monster by Ours, and Hate Me by Blue October.

4 - Do you have a favorite author?

- What?!  This is like Sophie's Choice, but I can't choose just one. How about I list a couple of my go-to authors?  Romance: Kristen Ashley & R.L. Mathewson.  Thriller/Horror:  Steven King & Richard Laymon.  SciFi Romance:  Evangeline Anderson & Laurann Dohner.

5 - What's next for you?

- Next in my books to come is the second full novel in the Falling Stars Series:  Hidden in the Stars (H.I.T.S.).   Also coming is a standalone Steamy Romance titled:  Vegas Follows You Home.

6 - Is there anything else you would like your readers to know?

- I'm excited to share that I will be attending the Cleveland Author Event 4-26-2014 & the Frederick Book Festival 6-27 to 28, 2014. And I'm looking forward to meeting some amazing people in person.   I'd also like to thank everyone who has read Falling Stars, as well as those who have stopped by and visited today.  You are all amazingness!

Interview + Giveaway - Sex.Love.Repeat by Alessandra Torre

Title: Sex.Love.Repeat

Author: Alessandra Torre

Release date: December 1st, 2013

Genre: Erotic Romance

Tour: Irresistible Reads Book Tours

Book Description:
I love two men. I screw two men. I am in a relationship with them both, and they are both aware there is another. That is all they need to know, that is all I let them know. They don’t need to know a name; they don’t need to know anything, but that they are not alone in my heart.

They have accepted the situation. Stewart, because his life is too busy for the sort of obligations that are required in a relationship. Paul, because he loves me too much to tell me no. And because my sexual appetite is such that one man has trouble keeping up.

So we exist, two parallel relationships, each running their own course, with no need for intersection or conflict. It works for us, for them, and for me. I don’t expect it to be a long-term situation. I know there is an expiration date on the easy perfection of our lives.

I should have paid more attention, should have looked around and noticed the woman who watched it all. She sat in the background and waited, tried to figure me out. Saw my two relationships, the love between us, and the moment that it all fell apart.

She hates me.
I don’t even know she exists.
She loves them. I love them.
And they love me.
EVERYTHING else hangs in the balance

Interview

1 - Have you always wanted to be a writer?

No! I never dreamed that I would be able to formulate a story on paper. I always wanted to be a professional reader, and somehow make my living in that way. I sort of stumbled onto the process of writing a book, and once in – I was hooked!

2 - What inspired you to write erotic romance?

Fifty Shades of Grey taught me that erotica could be widely accepted, and from that point on, I let my fantasies go wild.

3 - Do you have any writing rituals?

I have several playlists on Spotify, and when writing I'll normally pop on some headphones and play music. I stock Monster Zero and Nutty Bars in my office. If stuck, I'll throw on a jacket and take my dogs for a long walk. That helps to jog my creativity up.

4 - Who are your favorite writers?

I love Lisa Gardner, JD Robb, KA Konrath, and Gillian Flynn. I am odd in that I don't read much actual romance or erotic.

5 - What's next for you?

I'm working on a sequel to my erotic thriller 'The Girl in 6E' as well as the third book in my Blindfolded Innocence trilogy.

6 - Is there anything you would like your readers to know?

That reviews and contact mean so much to us. Spreading the word about a book you love is the ultimate compliment to an author.
