Review - Remembrance by Michelle Madow

Title and Author: Remembrance by Michelle Madow
Publisher: Dreamscape Publishing
Publication Date: July 27th, 2011
Paperback/Hardcover: 314
Genre:Young Adult, Paranormal

Summary:
New Hampshire high school junior Lizzie Davenport has been reincarnated from Regency Era, England ... but she doesn't know it yet.
Then Drew Carmichael transfers into Lizzie's school at the beginning of the year, and she feels a connection to him, almost like she knows him. She can't stop thinking about him, but whenever she tries talking with him about the mysteries behind her feelings, he makes it clear that he wants nothing to do with her. Reaching him is even more difficult because she has a boyfriend, Jeremy, who has started to become full of himself after being elected co-captain of the varsity soccer team, and her flirtatious best friend Chelsea starts dating Drew soon after his arrival. So why can't she seem to get him out of her mind?
Even though Lizzie knows she should let go of her fascination with Drew, the pair of them soon find that fighting fate isn't going to be easy.

Review:
Remembrance was inspired by Taylor Swift’s video for Love story, which I think it’s very interesting.
Lizzie is your normal teenager. Her boyfriend Jeremy is changing, though. He’s distant, pushy and wants more than she is willing to give.
When a new boy, Andre Carmichael, moved to school Lizzie immediately feels like she already knows him. She is drawn to him but he seems to be set on pushing her away. He says he wants to prevent history from repeating itself but Lizzie is not sure she knows what that means.
She slowly starts to remember a past life and a relationship with Drew. Is reincarnation possible?
As she searches for answers, Lizzie falls more and more in love with Drew but Jeremy and her best friend Chelsea get in the way, making everything even more difficult than it already is.
I really enjoyed this book. I like the fact it was inspired by a music video and think the author did an amazing job when it comes to dealing with the theme of reincarnation.
The characters are well-developed and easy to relate to especially Lizzie and Drew, whose relationship is great. Drew could be really sweet when he wanted to, which I’m obviously all for. :) I also like the fact they shared a previous life and that we get glimpses of that life and their romance.
All the supporting characters were very interesting as well and all of them brought something to the story.
The book is well-written and well-balanced. The story is entertaining and sweet. Even though I kind of knew what would happen the author was still able to keep me interested in the story until the end.
Remembrance is a very nice book and a great start for a series. I can’t wait to find out what will happen next and see how the relationship between Lizzie and Drew develops.
I would definitely recommend this book to any Young Adult and Paranormal Romance fan.
