The Burn is full of nuclear fallout, roving gangs, anarchy, unreliable plumbing. That's what Terra's father tells her. But when Terra finally escapes the colony, she finds out her father is right.
She finds a group of survivors that quickly become friends, and every day with them is a race for survival. When she witnesses and commits unspeakable acts, she has to decide where her loyalty lies: with the colony she despises or The Burn, where every day is filled with nightmares.

Review:
I received this book from the author in exchange of an honest review and I found it to be very interesting and different.
The Burn is a young adult dystopian book that takes place 1oo years after World War III destroyed the world. A group of scientists figured the world would eventually destroy itself so they built several secret shelters and only the people born in those shelters are allowed into them.
Terra finds this world to be a prison for her and all she wants is to leave her colony and find and explore new land.
I enjoyed The Burn. It is a well-written book that tackles an interesting theme – the end of the world and the need to survive at all costs.
The characters and their feelings come off as real and you are able to understand them and their actions. I especially liked Terra.
The end leaves you wanting more, which is good since there is a sequel planned.
All in all I enjoyed The Burn and thought the story was quite interesting. I think any Young Adult and dystopia fan will be able to enjoy this book.
