Review:
I had high expectations for this book and, gladly, I was not disappointed when I finally got to read it. The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer kept me hooked and wanting to find out what exactly was going on.
Mara Dyer wakes up in a hospital one day. She has a few bruises and absolutely no recollection of how she got there. She quickly learns something terrible happened to her and her friends during their nighttime exploration of an abandoned house. Mara is fine but her friends aren’t. They’re dead.
As if not remembering what happened that night wasn’t enough, strange things start to happen around her. Her dreams are flashbacks of the night of the accident and the more she finds out about it, the more she is confused. It seems like what happened that night wasn’t an accident, after all and, maybe, she isn’t exactly who she thought she was.
This book is mysterious and exciting and I really enjoyed finding out what happened to Mara as she did as well.
Mara is a great main character and is easy to understand what she is going through. She’s scared and confused and afraid she is going crazy and the readers get to experience all those emotions with her.
Noah is also a great character. He’s witty mysterious and sweet and just swoon-worthy. Oh, and have I mentioned he has a British accent? He does! I think he was perfect to Mara and helped her understand more about what was going on with her.
The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer is well-written and you really get to know Mara and Noah.
There’s a lot of action and intense moments in this book that were able to keep me completely interested and entertained. I couldn’t put the book down because I wanted to find out what was happening.
There’s something for everyone in this book – mystery, action, love… This book is a great read that I’m sure will be able to keep readers well entertained.
The cliffhanger at the end is just evil, though! I’m so curious, I can’t wait to read the next book now!

  3. I have to definitely agree with your post. I honestly cannot find enough words to describe the intricacy and in-your-face-ness of the plot, which pulled me right along and didn't let me rest. I loved both Mara and Noah, and their love/hate relationship c: Right now, I'm just freaking out and wanting The Evolution so badly!!!

  4. *Sniffles* This book is sooo good. I'm so confused on many things after the book finished, but I feel like readers are supposed to be a little confused, and that things will be cleared up in the next books. I can't believe it's a trilogy! I know Michelle Hodkin knows what she is doing, but I don't really see how this is going to go on for two more books. NOT that it's a bad idea/series, but the first book and the addition of a second book might've been enough? I don't know. All I DO know is that I can't wait for The Evolution of Mara Dyer!!!!! Thanks for the review!!!! :)
