The last thing Dawson Black

girls are…well, fun. But since the Luxen have to keep their true identities a
secret, falling for one would be insane.
Dangerous.
Tempting. Undeniable.
Bethany can’t deny the
immediate connection between her and Dawson. And even though boys aren’t a
complication she wants, she can’t stay away from him. Still, whenever they lock
eyes, she’s drawn in.
Captivated.
Lured. Loved.
Dawson is keeping a secret
that will change her existence...and put her life in jeopardy. But even he
can’t stop risking everything for one human girl. Or from a fate that is as
unavoidable as love itself
Review:
After reading Obsidian I
really had to read Shadows so I could find out exactly what had happened to Dawson.
Gladly this story, even though it was bittersweet, did not disappoint me.
In Shadows we get to know
exactly what happened to Daemon and Dee’s brother Dawson and see how his
relationship with Bethany, a human he just couldn’t stay away from, started and
developed. Dawson wasn’t supposed to fall in love with a human but he couldn’t
help himself and he’s determined to be with Bethany no matter how dangerous
their relationship can be.
Dawson and Daemon might look
exactly alike but when it comes to their personalities they couldn’t be more
different! If you’ve read Obsidian you already met Daemon and know what he’s
like so I’ll concentrate on Dawson now, especially because I really like him.
Dawson is sweet, warm and
funny. I really thought he was a great character and the fact he also has a
temper he keeps hidden most of the time but sometimes unleashes only made me
like him even more. Dawson is really similar to Daemon when it comes to loving
and wanting to protect his family, which only adds to his appeal!
Bethany is a great character
as well. She’s an artist and she’s sweet and intelligent. I think she was
perfect for Dawson and she was very understanding when it comes to what Dawson
really is.
The relationship between
Dawson and Bethany is definitely the best thing about this book. It’s obvious
they really do care for each other and their feelings seem incredibly real.
Their romance is sweet and the passionate moments between them are almost
scorching. My favorite scenes were the ones they were together, getting to know
each other and falling in love. They really are a great couple.
I really enjoyed this novella.
There are some great moments, especially between Dawson and Bethany. Plus, I
think Shadows really helps the reader understand why Daemon acts the way he
does in Obsidian and it adds a lot to the story.
All in all, Shadows is a great
addition to the Lux series. It gives a glimpse into Dawson’s and Bethany’s
story as well as Daemon and Dee’s past. The novella is well-written, fast paced
interesting and a little bittersweet. There’s romance, action and a little
adventure.
I can’t wait to read Onyx now
because I really need to know more about what happened to Dawson and Bethany.
If you enjoyed Obsidian you
should definitely read Shadows. It will answer some of your questions and bring
forth a whole new set of them!
Rating: Worth Your Time ( 4 Stars)
I'm so glad to hear that Dawson and Daemon aren't completely alike! I have to admit that Daemon frustrated me sometimes in Obsidian. It sounds like this is a great prequel though, and one I'll definitely have to read. Thanks for the review!

This one was a bit too boring for my taste. Maybe it's because no one can compare to Daemon(at least in this series).
