Top Ten Books

Last week I asked you to let me know what your favorite books were and you certainly did so! Thank you! :)

According to the votes received your favorite books are:
(Click on the book cover to be taken to goodreads)

10 - Fallen by Lauren Kate

Stories related to fallen angels seem to be here to stay. The mystery and myth surrounding them is probably the reason why angels are so popular right now.
I'm not a big fan of this book but I do understand why so many people like it. Once you start reading it you can't help wanting to know what the hell is going on.
Plus the book cover is just great, isn't it?
If fantasy and fallen angels is your thing, you might want to read this book.

9 - Twilight by Stephenie Meyer

I'll admit it, despite everything, I like Twilight and Edward Cullen.
I don't think I can say anything about this book that hasn't already been said so I'll keep it simple:
A vampire, a human girl and their love story makes Twilight an interesting book. Some people love it. Some people hate it. Some of you are Team Edward. Others are Team Jacob.
All in all Twilight is a good book with some interesting characters and good action.

8 - City of Glass by Cassandra Clare

City of Glass is the third book in the Mortal Instruments series and it is as intense as the previous books.
There's plenty of action, mystery and romance. New characters are introduced and all of them bring somethign to the story.
There are revelations and surprises any fans of the previous books will enjoy. In my opinion, if the series had ended with this book, it would have ended well.

7 - The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King by  J.R.R Tolkien

Come on, confess, you knew at least one The Lord of The Rings book would be on this list, didn't you?
Whether you love it or hate it, it's impossible not to admit that the world J.R.R Tolkien created is simply amazing.
Action, adventure, mystery, friendship and loyalty makes The Lord of the Rings a wonderful series. This is the last book of the series and puts an end to Frodo's journey
Legends, history, wonderful characters and an amazing plot... This book, as well as the other two, has it all. If you haven't read it yet, what are you waiting for?

6 - Tie between Nightshade by Andrea Cremer and Uglies by Scott Westerfeld

I haven't read Nightshade yet but I definitely will.
The cover is extremely alluring and the plot seems very interesting.
A wolf pack that doesn't exactly follow the rules? It sounds intriguing, doesn't it?
Mystery, action and a a love triangle. It seems very interesting, doesn't it?

Again, I haven't read this one yet but Scott Westerfeld seems to have created a very interesting world with this book. A world where when people turn sixteen they undergo a surgery to turn them pretty.

The first book in a series, Uglies is likely to please most young adult and fantasy fans with its unusual and interesting plot.

5 - City of Bones by Cassandra Clare

Jace, Jace, Jace! Don't you just love him? :P This is the first book on the Mortal Instruments series and it is, in my opinion, the best.
I love the world Cassandra Clare created in this book and there's a little something in it for everyone. There's mystery, action, adventure and a very interesting but complicated romance.
Interesting characters and an equally interesting story makes this a must read for any young adult and fantasy fan.

4 - Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

I'm completely biased when it comes to this book because it's probably my personal favorite. I'm a huge Jane Austen fan.
Pride and Prejudice is wonderfully well-written. There are no wasted chapters in this book or secondary characters that become superfluous. This is, probably, Jane Austen's best work.
If you are a fan of the classics this book is a must read. If you're not I think you can come to enjoy this book as well.

3 - Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling

This list wouldn't be complete without a Harry Potter book, would it? The Prisoner of Azkaban seems to be a favorite among fans. All seven books received votes, though.
Magic, friendship, adventure, mystery, demonstrations of courage, a little romance... Harry Potter has it all. Extremely well written and captivating Harry Potter is one of the greatest series out there.
If you haven't read at least one Harry Potter book, what are you waiting for?
You'll more than likely love it.

2 - Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins

I'm so glad this book is on the list because I certainly fell in love with the characters when I read it.
The characters in this book aren't perfect. In a way they are perfectly imperfect and I believe that's one of the reasons so many people seem to like this book. The plot is simple but well developed. The characters seem real as does the relationship between them.
If you are a romance lover, you’ll have to read this one.

1 - The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

I understand why so many people like this book (and the series). The Hunger Games has a little something for everyone! Action, adventure and a little bit of romance as well.
I must confess I wasn't sure if I would like it at first but once I started reading it I was immediately hooked. I believed that happened to most of you as well.
Well written, with an amazing and well developed plot and interesting characters this book is a winner.

Interesting list, isn't it?
So, what do you think of it? Do you agreed with it or not really? I would love to know your opinion.

P.S: I'll post a new form related to your top ten authors in a few minutes. Go fill the form and earn entries for the surprise giveaway I'll host soon!
