My Book Boyfriend

My Book Boyfriend is a weekly meme, hosted by Missie at The Unread Reader. It is a weekly meme where we talk about a literary crush including stats, a picture of what you imagine he looks like and some quotes from him that make you swoon.  If you are interested in participating please check out the My Book Boyfriend Introduction Page over at Missie's blog The Unread Reader.

This week my book boyfriend is:

Chaol Westfall from Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

Status: Chaol is the Captain of the Royal Guard. He's charged with training Celaena and is bestfriends with Prince Dorian.

Age:  22

Height: Tall

Eyes: Golden-Brown

Hair: Brown
More info: Chaol is a skilled fighter and even though he can seem cold sometimes, it's obvious he ends up having feelings for Celaena

"Captain Westfall was not excessively handsome, but she couldn’t help finding the ruggedness of his face and the clarity of his golden-brown eyes rather appealing."

“You have the skills,” Chaol said, “but some of your moves are still undisciplined.”
“That’s never stopped me from killing before,” she spat.
Chaol chuckled at her agitation and pointed his sword at the rack, allowing her to get to her feet. “Pick another—something different. Make it interesting, too. Something that will make me sweat, please.”
“You’ll be sweating when I skin you alive and squish your eyeballs beneath my feet,” she muttered, picking up the rapier.
“That’s the spirit.

“In the garden, the Captain of the Guard stared up at the young woman's balcony, watching as she waltzed alone, lost in her dreams. But he knew her thoughts weren't of him.
She stopped and stared upward. Even from a distance, he could see the blush upon her cheeks. She seemed young—no, new. It made his chest ache.
Still, he watched, watched until she sighed and went inside. She never bothered to look below”

“How long was I asleep?” she whispered. He didn’t respond. “How long was I asleep?”
she asked again, and noticed a hint of red in his cheeks. “You were asleep, too?”
“Until you began drooling on my shoulder.”
“Such a self-righteous young man,” she cooed, and he poked her leg.
“Pay attention.”

Celaena," Chaol said gently. And then she heard the scraping noise as his hand came into view, sliding across the flagstones. His fingertips stopped just at the edge of the white line. "Celaena," he breathed, his voice laced with pain--and hope. This was all she had left--his outstretched hand, and the promise of hope, of something better waiting on the other side of the line.

If you're wondering what I imagine Chaol to look like, Sarah J. Maas posted THIS PICTURE of Sam Worthington on her pintrest and I think he's perfect.

So, what do you think of Chaol? I think he's quite wonderful and, even though Dorian is great as well, I'm definitely Team Chaol! :)

  1. I love the rugged guys, and Choal sounds like he fits the bill. And Sam Worthington is so swoon worthy.

  2. Carla that last quote made me MELT!!!!! I have this on my TBR list but just haven't got round to it, I think I'll read it this weekend now:)

And Sam Worthington, OMG how hot is he?? I've never really paid much attention to him before but THAT MUST CHANGE!

  3. I want to read this so badly right now! The balcony quote just broke my heart and I know I want to know what happens. And Sam Worthington is hot!!

  4. I really really liked this book!!! And yes, he's a great boyfriend to have.

  5. I reeeeeeeally want to read this one, and you've only convinced me even more. A book can have a good plot but if the male character/love interest doesn't come across well, then the experience is kind of ruined. I approve of Sam Worthington, too.

  6. I love Chaol! Wayyy more than Dorian! Team Chaol!

  7. I still have to read this but now I am definitely looking forward to starting it as soon as possible! Chaol sounds fantastic! :D
