Jayne King lived in a world of players. She’d been groomed by her father to win, taking no prisoners in her quest to reach the top.
But, it was never enough. She wanted out, and just when she finds her escape, she’s pulled back into the underground crime world of Las Vegas. One phone call spins her life out of control, and she once again has to live her life behind a mask of lies.
Her body is for sale, but her heart is off limits. Flynn Maguire, professional gambler and notorious ladies’ man, always wins. Always. As the son of the heir to the Emerald Hotel and Casino fortune, he’s always had his desires delivered on a silver platter. When he crosses paths with Jayne King, he will stop at nothing to have her.
Nothing has ever stood between him and what he wanted, and there wasn't an amount of money too high to pay to own her. He realizes too late, that money can’t buy her heart, and he finds himself in a place he never he’d be. In love.

One of the questions I’ve been asked over and over again since I started writing See Jayne Play is why did I chose to make Jayne a prostitute.  Yes, there were so many other scenarios I could have used, but ultimately, they just wouldn’t have fit.
She is definitely a product of her environment and her upbringing.  She was the daughter of a criminal, and so she fell into the same skate of life as her father. Where we begin in the story, she’s at a crossroads. She’s already lived a hard life, and she’s second guessing all her past decisions. She’s beginning to realize that she made a lot of mistakes, and the lifestyle she chose isn’t as acceptable to her as it once was.
Point being; she grew up.
At the heart of the story, we learn that Jayne is just human. She’s no better or worse than most of us, even living the taboo lifestyle she leads. She’s a girl, she’s flawed in ways she doesn’t even understand herself. Her journey becomes the reader’s journey as she tries to figure out what she wants, and needs.
I think personally, the hardest part of being a writer is making characters real and relatable. Human. It’s easy when writing fiction to get sucked into the make-believe and over sensationalize the characters, their feelings, and the situations we put them in. With this story, it was exceptionally hard to find the balance.
It deals with kidnapping, prostitution, criminal money and organized crime. These aren’t easy to portray, but I do hope the readers find a way to relate to the characters and fall in love with them the way I have
