Review:

I have received this book from the author in exchange of an honest review. The idea of a human being taken into the world of mermaids seemed very interesting and the story did not disappoint me.

Florence is the story of a girl – Florence – who is abducted and taken in the world of mermaids to be given as a gift to Prince Kiren. Nothing is quite what it seems underwater, though and Florence will quickly find herself in the middle of a war and two brothers.

I find it difficult to like and connect to Florence at first. She was a little boring and reserved but, as the story developed, so did her character. She became a strong and driven character.

The brothers Kiren and Rolan are two very interesting characters. They are completely different from each other, which I think added a lot to the story. Plus, the fact Rolan is so secretive and mysterious kept me intrigued.

I think the relationship between Florence and the two brothers developed nicely. The love triangle wasn’t really a love triangle since Florence’s relationship with each of the brothers is so completely different.

Florence is an interesting story and it developed well, even though there were some slow moments especially at the beginning of the book. Cho’s reading style is very descriptive which makes it possible for the reader to imagine all the mermaids, fish and settings.

All in all, Florence is a good story. It’s easy to read and the world created was exciting and different.

If you like a good Young Adult, Paranormal story about mermaids you’ll be able to enjoy this book.
